About Our Community

This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Wilburn Gardens - and throughout Emeritus Senior Living communities- has shared since 1998, when our community first opened its doors. It's a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful- a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.

The Perfect Location

Emeritus at Wilburn Gardens is located only an hour South of Washington, D.C., but in it’s own highly historical environment, Fredericksburg, VA. Within minutes of dozens of Civil War battlefields and museums, Wilburn Gardens’ residents have a wealth of history surrounding them. A mere mile away, Fredericksburg’s best shopping is available at Spotsylvania Towne Center and Central Park. Convenient to Interstate 95, families and friends find it easy to visit their loved ones. Hospital, primary care and health care specialists are all located within our 10 mile FREE transportation service.

A Wonderful Selection

Set on five acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with an outdoor courtyard, Emeritus at Wilburn Gardens is one of Virginia's premier retirement communities. Located just off I-95, our senior living community offers 99 senior apartments on three floors. Here our residents — in many cases, with their pets — enjoy retirement living within a home-like setting. Yet a helping hand from our warm, caring staff — many of whom have been with us for at least five years — is always close by.

Strong, Caring Professional Relationships

Staff and administration at Emeritus at Wilburn Gardens are affiliated with many local community support organizations, often times sitting as board members, in an effort to educate and assist members of our community. It doesn’t matter if a senior in need is a resident of Emeritus or not, following our motto of “Safely Somewhere”, Emeritus employees continue to give to the community at large. Participation with the national Alzheimer’s Association and other local organizations such as Partners in Aging ensure that our experience and knowledge reach far beyond the walls of our building and help as many as possible.

Our Staff

Emeritus a Wilburn Gardens is staffed by a wonderful caring staff. Many have been with our residents for 6 or more years, with two of them having been employed since the grand opening in 1999.
