About Our Community

This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Tanglewood Oaks — and throughout Emeritus Senior Living communities — has shared since 1997, when our community first opened its doors. It's a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful — a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.

The Perfect Location

Set on five acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with an enclosed courtyard, lovely gardens and walking trails, Emeritus at Tanglewood Oaks is considered one the premier retirement communities in Fort Worth, Texas. Located close to I-30 and I-20, our community offers a homelike atmosphere with 73 senior apartments on one floor for easy access. Here our residents — in many cases, with their pets — enjoy retirement living. Yet should you need a helping hand from our warm and caring staff — many of whom have been with us for years — we also offer complete assisted living services, tailor-made to your needs. We've designed our services to focus on wellness, helping you maintain or improve your health, so you can live as independently as possible.

We are on the near west side of Fort Worth’s central business district. Close to the Cultural District, with all its museums, gardens and Trinity park, World Famous Fort Worth Zoo, and Colonial Country Club! We are in the shadow of the National Football Champion’s TCU Horned Frogs Football Stadium and TCU campus in the lovely Tanglewood area. We are located just south of the Trinity River bridge on Hulen St. We are nestled between Central Market and Hulen Mall, so great shopping is always easy! The hospital district with 6 regional hospitals is a short 4 minute drive away. Just South of I 30 and just North of I 20 we have very easy access to all the areas attractions and airports.

A Wonderful Selection

Our beautiful Community sits on 5 and one half acres! We have just 1 elevation so there are no stairs or elevators to worry about! The 50,000 sq. ft. under the roof surrounds a massive Courtyard in the middle of the property with, trees, a gazebo, garden paths, wind mills, patio’s, roses and the happiest squirrels and bunnies in Fort Worth. The beautifully furnished community is a host to area wide events and available to our residents birthday parties as well.

Our common areas — including our lovely dining room, TV room, library and activities center — give residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another. We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including trips to the Omni Theater, various museums in the area and Trinity Trails. Emeritus at Tanglewood Oaks is conveniently located in a lovely urban neighborhood setting, near the Central Market, Tom Thumb, Wells Fargo and Compass Bank. Tanglewood Oaks is close to several medical facilities, including Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital, Baylor All Saints Medical Center and John Peter Smith Hospital, as well as a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed.
