Midland, Texas Retirement Community
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Saddleridge Lodge; and throughout Emeritus Senior Living communities; has shared since 1997, when our community first opened its doors. It's a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful; a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
Emeritus at Saddleridge Lodge is conveniently located in a semi-residential/business area in the northern part of Midland. Just off the Loop 250 N service road between "A" Street and Garfield St., we offer easy access to everything that Midland has to offer – a big plus for our residents who still drive. For those who don’t, we take residents wherever they wish to go in our own air conditioned van – on personal errands, to the public library, to their hair and doctors appointments, to the Museum of the Southwest and every Friday, we go out to lunch to one of many restaurants in the area – the Cracker Barrell, Clear Springs and various local Mexican favorites, to name a few. Several medical facilities, including Midland Memorial Hospital and a skilled nursing home, are within just a few minutes drive. The Senior Care Center is just two blocks behind us.
A Wonderful Selection
Our two-story retirement community offers 80 senior apartments, with a total of three different units available: 400-square-foot studios, 450-square foot alcoves and 550-square-foot one bedrooms. All of our apartments are very spacious and offer a kitchenette with a full refrigerator, private bath, wall-to-wall carpeting and individual temperature control. They also have large windows that provides nice neighborhood views. Small pets are welcome to join our family.
A large lobby area greets visitors, guests and staff, with a comfortable sitting area and entrance into our lovely dining room. The first floor also features a library with fireplace. In addition, we have a TV room, activities room, beauty shop, chapel and laundry facilities on both floors for the convenience of our residents. We take pride in the appearance of our Midland retirement community and are constantly upgrading and redecorating. Outside, residents can enjoy our spacious patio area, which surrounds the front of our building and offers cushioned chairs and benches for relaxation and conversation. In our back yard, residents grow all kinds of vegetable and flowers.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
With Midland’s many home health and hospice agencies, we are able to offer our residents and their families a wide range of options. In addition, one home health agency has its offices right here, and residents are welcome to use their services – but it’s always their choice. No matter which agency residents choose, we can work closely with their physicians and coordinate making appointments for them. Services are provided here in the comfort of our community – usually in the resident’s apartment or in a common area. In addition, we bring in other healthcare providers to address topics of interest to our residents, for example, to present vision aids and hearing equipment, special footwear available for diabetics or information on Medicare coverage and benefits.
We are extremely fortunate to have a full staff of wonderful employees, including our Resident Care Director who is a licensed vocational nurse, as well as Med Aids, Resident Assistants, a helpful dining services and housekeeping staff, among others. Several of our staff members have been with our community for many years – and all of our employees are extremely caring and dedicated to our residents. They are considered family and are treated just like we’d want our own parents or grandparents to be treated.
In addition, we train our caregivers to be well-rounded and flexible, enabling them to step in and take over tasks handled by another employee to ensure that our residents’ needs are always met. The care and service we provide are our number one priority – and it shows in everything we do, whether it’s visiting a resident in the hospital or taking the time to sit down and talk to a resident who may be feeling down.
