Eagle Point, Oregon Retirement Community
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Eagle Cove; and throughout Emeritus Senior Living communities has shared since 1996 when our community first opened its doors. It's a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful;a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
Emeritus at Eagle Cove – a small community of 8,790 (as of 2009) in southern Oregon – is nestled in a residential neighborhood, just one block off Main Street. On either side of our retirement community is a police station and fire station. Should there be an emergency, medics can respond immediately. Eagle Point Branch Library is just two blocks away – and downtown Eagle Point, with several restaurants, banks, shops and hair salons, is just a block away. In addition, Wal-Mart, Lowe’s, Costco and the Rogue Valley Mall are within ten miles, making our community far enough away to be out of the bustle and noise, yet close enough for shopping convenience. Two major hospitals – Providence Medford Medical Center and Rogue Valley Medical Center – are located in Medford, less than 15 miles from Eagle Point. Plus Eagle Cove is just five blocks from Highway 62, the main north-south route off I-5. Traveling up Route 62 puts you at the doorstep of Crater Lake National Park in just over one hour.
A Wonderful Selection
With our close proximity to medical professionals, hospitals and shopping, Emeritus at Eagle Cove offers the perfect location for retirement living. Our 16 retirement apartments – each of which is designed to make residents feel right at home – are available in studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom styles. Each includes a full kitchen, washer and dryer, a patio or balcony and one-car garage. Our two-story building also offers 63 assisted living apartments in studio and one-bedroom configurations. All assisted living apartments have a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and sink; a large wheelchair-accessible bathroom with walk-in shower; and a 24-hour emergency response system. All retirement and assisted living apartments are located in the same building; however, our retirement apartments at the end of one wing with its own entrance. For all residents, we offer month-to-month rent; there are no buy-in fees or leases. The rent includes weekly housekeeping and linen service; apartment, landscaping and yard maintenance; all planned activities; scheduled transportation to activities, shopping and medical appointments; all paid utilities, except phone/cable; and individually controlled heating and air-conditioning. Three meals a day are also included for all residents. This gives retirement residents the option to eat with us or cook on their own in their full kitchen. And most apartments offer nice views, either looking out onto the surrounding neighborhood or from our second floor, the foothills around Eagle Point. All apartments are repainted before new residents move in, and we are in the process of installing new carpet in all apartments as residents move out or transition to a different apartment.
When residents, visitors and family members first walk into Emeritus at Eagle Cove, they are greeted by a lovely lobby area with a gas fireplace surrounded in natural stone – one of three such fireplaces in our community. Large comfortable couches and chairs offer perfect spots for relaxation or joining friends for a quick card game. Our spacious dining room, decorated in a log cabin style, is also located on the first floor. Here, all of our residents eat and socialize together, while being waited on by our gracious staff. Just off the dining room is an open courtyard area with walking paths, benches, beautiful mature trees and lovely hanging baskets planted by our Garden Club. A large activities room on our second floor is also available for all residents, while there is a dedicated living area on the first and second floors in the retirement wing. Close to many of the assisted living apartments are smaller alcove seating areas, giving residents private places to visit with company. Our community also has a small library that includes many large print books and a special machine that helps the vision impaired read. Our building is also surrounded by a covered veranda, where residents are often found during warmer weather, relaxing with a good book, playing games or chatting with friends and family.
