About Our Community

This is the promise that the staff at Minnetonka Assisted Living - and throughout Emeritus Senior Living communities has shared since our community first opened its doors. It's a simple promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our retirees who have chosen our community for its active lifestyle.

The Perfect Location

Here at Minnetonka Assisted Living, our residents have it all! Our lovely community, which borders the upscale Lake Minnetonka area, is nestled in a residential part of town surrounded by natural landscaping, meandering walking paths and many parks nearby. Yet we’re just 20 minutes to downtown Minneapolis, making our community the ideal choice for seniors who enjoy the theater, fine dining, museums and shopping. With our close proximity to Minneapolis, there are several outstanding medical facilities nearby, including Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital, Fairview Southdale Hospital and North Memorial Healthcare – as well as many doctors’ offices and skilled nursing facilities.

We are also located just across the road from the Minnetonka Community Center – home to the Minnetonka Senior Center – where residents take full advantage of the many activities and programs offered. The Williston Fitness Center is also next door. For a low monthly fee or minimal per-class fee, residents can take water and/or arthritis walker classes, which are offered numerous times throughout the week. And of course, Super Target is a popular destination with our residents, with shopping excursions planned at least twice a month.

A Wonderful Selection

Situated in a secluded wooded setting, our three-story building offers 78 assisted living apartments in studio and one-bedroom configurations, ranging from 237 to 500 square feet. Each apartment offers wall-to-wall carpeting, large windows, wheel-chair accessible private bathrooms, individually controlled heat and air conditioning, and an emergency call system. Pets are also welcome at Minnetonka Assisted Living!

In addition, residents have full access to our lovely common areas. On the main floor, a wall of windows in our huge dining room – which doubles as a living room and activities area – offers beautiful views of our naturally landscaping. There, residents can see all kinds of wildlife, from deer to foxes to wild turkeys that often meander by! The second floor features a spacious activities/social gathering area with a balcony looking out onto the windows in the dining room. On the third floor, beautiful French doors open onto our sun deck, which has been furnished with new patio tables and chairs. On July 4th, residents join there to watch the city’s spectacular fireworks show. The third floor also has a small library with a large-screen television. In addition, there are two other living areas, with televisions. And wherever residents go throughout our building, there are large windows for them to enjoy our beautiful surroundings – from the indoors. When they want to enjoy the out-of-doors, paved level pathways, with park benches and bird feeders, encircle our building.

Our Staff

We pride ourselves on hiring only those care professionals who are truly passionate about working with seniors. We believe we can teach anyone the skills of caring for our residents, but empathy, compassion and dedication are traits that cannot be learned. As a result, we have a solid group of core staff who are truly committed to our residents. Just recently, for example, one of our family members, who was going to be away on vacation, asked two of our med techs if they’d visit their loved one while in the hospital, which they gladly did – after working all day. For the past year, another staff member has continued to visit one of our residents, who had to move into a nursing home, even though the resident will not be coming home to our community.

In addition, our staff receives extensive ongoing training, both in a classroom setting, as well as mentoring and shadowing other more experienced caregivers. We also have two registered nurses – our Resident Care Director and Wellness Nurse Director – on staff. They oversee all of the training and supervise our med techs and Resident Assistants. They can also provide hands-on nursing care as needed.
