Alzheimer's Walk Flash Mob
Emeritus Flash Mobs the Seattle Walk to End Alzheimer’s!
In the U.S., someone develops Alzheimer’s disease every 69 seconds. Without a cure to stop its progression, it is anticipated that by 2050, 16 million Americans will have Alzheimer’s disease.
On September 10, 2011, more than 2,000 participants gathered for the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” at the Seattle Center.
To help honor and thank all the event’s walkers, volunteers, supporters and donors, Emeritus Senior Living teamed up with the Alzheimer’s Association and SNAPforSeniors to present the “Amazing Glory” Flash Mob. The mob was designed to celebrate and surprise all the walkers, as well as bring awareness of the cause to younger generations.
More than 200 ‘mobbers’ from these organizations, and from around the city, turned out to pay tribute with an inspiring and lively dance to the timeless songs, “Thank You For Being A Friend,” “Just The Way You Are,” and “Edge of Glory.” Emeritus would like to thank Fischer Group, Sound Business Forms, GeoMark Law Firm, Illustratus, Cintas and ICR for helping us sponsor this wonderful community experience for such an important cause.
