Before a resident moves in – and even before he or she has committed to Emeritus at Chesterley Meadows – our nursing staff will provide a complimentary assessment of their needs. We’ll also work with the resident’s physician to get their medical records, ensuring that our community is the right place for the resident. We may even recommend that the individual doesn’t yet need assisted living; sometimes we can help them make some modifications or connect them to resources, so that they can still remain safely at home.

If a resident does choose to move here, we use the Emeritus We Care computerized program to put together a well-written care plan that helps ensure that all of their needs will be met. The care plan is personalized to their specific requirements. Our goal is always to encourage independence, providing guided assistance as needed – all within a home-like setting where residents and staff consider each other family. It’s this setting that has garnered our community a wonderful reputation throughout the Yakima area for its quality of care and supportive environment.

As an Emeritus community, Chesterley Court follows Join Their Journey – a wonderful program designed to help residents live each day fully and with the respect and honor they deserve as human beings. Join Their Journey supports residents wherever they are in their reality. For example, if a resident forgets that her spouse had died, and says that he’s going to be visiting soon, we’ll suggest getting coffee until he comes. Validating them in this way helps minimize anxiety and stress. Our well-trained staff is expert in individualizing the Join Their Journey program to our residents’ varying levels of ability and on engaging residents in a fun, creative way!
