Walk with an Emeritus team or make a donation to help fight Alzheimer's
I am pleased to announce that Emeritus Senior Living is supporting the Alzheimer’s Association as a National Platinum Level Team for the 2012 Walk to End Alzheimer's™ – the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research.
Currently, an estimated 5.4 million Americans live with Alzheimer’s. And with a new diagnosis every 69 seconds, the need for awareness is only continuing to grow.
Emeritus is grateful to be given a chance to take part in this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer's. My father has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. My whole family was devastated upon learning this news, but we are doing our best to preserve his dignity and well-being by showing our unconditional love and support for my father.
As a clinician, I have personally seen the physical, emotional and societal impact of Alzheimer’s on many of our residents and their loved ones. Offering our support to this important cause would be one small way of showing our commitment in fighting this disease and hope that one day a cure is discovered that will prevent further devastation of life and hope.
