As an Assisted Living community, Emeritus at Wilburn Gardens offers a multi-level care program. Called Aging in Place, a resident may join us at a time of near complete independence, requiring only meals, laundry and housekeeping.

As care needs increase, residents can be assured that our staff will be able to meet that need. Assistances in dressing, bathing, medication management, transfer and general ADL needs are just some of the help we can offer. With the assistance of outside resources, such as hospice organizations, the Alzheimer’s Association and home health companies, Wilburn Gardens can meet the needs of nearly any resident.

Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Services

Specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s care is also available at Emeritus at Wilburn Gardens. Specially trained staff and leadership offer a unique program for those residents having care needs as a result of a diagnosis of dementia. More than simply keeping them safe and secure, our “Join the Journey” program offers a unique approach to the enjoyment and fulfillment of resident’s daily activities.

In addition to the frequent higher levels of care, residents are met with a full, structured activity program, geared to specific life experiences and preferences. A secured outdoor courtyard is available for daily use and is invaluable to the life experience of our residents.

Our activities bus can be used for Memory Care residents to also experience the history of the Fredericksburg area. Although Memory Care residents have their own activities and scheduled entertainment, our residents often join with the assisted living residents for the larger types of entertainment. Alzheimer’s research is an important subject for Emeritus Senior Living, and the staff at Wilburn Gardens is no exception. Participation and membership with the local Alzheimer’s Association is ongoing with fund-raising and awareness activities, such as the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Many staff members walk each year to support this worthy cause.
