"We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do."

This is a simple promise that the staff at Emeritus at Lakeridge Place; and throughout Emeritus Senior Living communities; has shared since 1997, when our community first opened its doors. It's a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful; a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our retirees who have chosen our senior living community for its active lifestyle.

The Perfect Location

Hidden on a cul-de-sac near Midwestern Parkway and Maplewood Avenue, Emeritus at Lakeridge Place offers the ideal location – quiet, yet close to many of the area’s amenities. The Sikes Center Mall and Vernon College are just to our west. United Regional Health Care System and a skilled nursing facility are both within three miles. And several of our residents’ favorite destinations – Wal-Mart, the Dollar Store, Golden Coral, Red Lobster and Olive Garden – are within an easy drive. And with its rolling ranches and pastures, the countryside beyond Wichita Falls gives us ample opportunities to take residents on relaxing country rides.

A Wonderful Selection

Our two-story senior living community offers a total of 77 apartments, including studios, alcoves and one-bedrooms. All of our apartments include a small kitchen area with sink, refrigerator and cabinets; private wheelchair-accessible bathroom with a shower; as well as housekeeping, laundry service and cable television. Some apartments have views of Sikes Lake, where our residents often enjoy strolling along its one-mile walking path. Pets are also welcome.

In our assisted living community, we have several common areas – a library with fireplace, where residents love to gather and play dominos; a mezzanine that opens up to the second floor with a wonderful sitting area, where residents often do puzzles or enjoy watching the fish tank. Our lobby downstairs also has a sitting area, a fireplace and another fish tank – one of three in our community! A private dining room for birthday parties, special events and family gatherings is available for our residents’ personal use. In addition, our main dining room features floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the lake and to a patio area with tables, chairs and umbrellas. We also have our own in-house beauty salon open three to four days a week.

Our dedicated Memory Care Neighborhood is extremely homey and comfortable. Residents can live in their own private apartments, which they can decorate anyway they wish. They can also share an apartment – either a 450-square-foot alcove or 525-square-foot one bedroom – for the companionship or to save on rent. In fact, many of our residents have never lived alone and prefer to have someone share their apartment with them. The neighborhood also has its own dining room, sitting area with a large-screen television, life stations throughout and a large outdoor area.

Strong, Caring Professional Relationships

As necessary, we can bring in outside physical, occupational and speech therapists to provide services in the comfort of the resident’s home. In addition, we work with several home health and hospice agencies, which come into our community to care for residents who need services that go beyond what we can provide. These agencies also occasionally hold blood pressure and flu shot clinics here at our community.

Our Staff

Staff longevity is commonplace at Emeritus at Lakeridge Place – our transportation driver has been here 13-plus years; our activities director, over 10 years; and some of our caregivers and dining staff have been here at least five years. The reason so many of our staff members choose to stay here is simple: They are devoted to the residents and don’t want to leave them. Visitors will often hear our staff referring to “my residents.” We also have many residents who have called our community home for more than a decade. One resident who recently passed away moved her just after it was built 15 years ago. Ours is a unique community – where residents choose to live because our staff is friendly, outgoing and clearly enjoys their work.

In addition, we are the only community in the area with a licensed vocational nurse on staff 16 hours a day, seven days a week – from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. This is especially beneficial to many of our residents who are diabetic and need help keeping their disease in control. We are also a higher acuity Type B community and are licensed to be able to assist residents in the event of an emergency evacuation.
