Many of our residents are fully independent and don’t require any assisted living services. However for those who do, before they move in, our nurse performs a thorough assessment of their health concerns. This is combined with physician orders, a medical history, list of medications and other important information to create a care plan personalized to the resident’s specific needs. During the first few days, we check on new residents frequently to be sure we have assessed their needs appropriately – then in 30 days, we meet with the resident and his or her family to reassess the care plan. By taking this approach, residents get exactly what they need and aren’t paying for services they don’t use.

We clearly recognize how difficult a move can be, especially for an older adult with challenging health conditions. So we do everything we can to enable residents to live here for the reminder of their lives – as long as they are able and content – bringing in home health or hospice services as necessary. Should they require skilled nursing care, there is a center located very close to our assisted living community. The ultimate goal is to help residents maintain the independence and freedom they had at home, while providing a safety net when they need it – and a helping hand to take some of the daily chores, like taking out trash and making their beds, off their shoulders.
