As we like to say, our philosophy is “care over real estate;” that is, our focus is on the care and services we provide our residents – and on relationships – rather than simply being the newest, prettiest or biggest senior living community in the area. We want our residents to be active and engage – to know that even though they are no longer in their own homes, there is still so much to enjoy in life. Our daily activities calendar is full. We offer a wonderful menu that caters to the West Texas palette. We often hold special celebrations and events for families. We take residents shopping, to the theater and to special events in the community.

We also take the time to get to know our residents, even before they move in, so that we can create a care plan that provides just the right level of assisted living services – a safety net, without being intrusive – and without burdening residents with services they don’t need, nor should have to pay for. Once they’ve lived here for 30 days, our nurse does a second assessment to make sure the resident is adjusting well – then again in six months or earlier if we notice a significant change in their health.

In addition, we are the only assisted living community in Lubbock that participates in the Community-based Alternative program offered by the Texas Department of Aging and Disabilities Services. Through this program, individuals with limited financial needs can get some assistance with living expenses through the State. Our 17 apartments in our new wing are designated for this program. This is a wonderful benefit for those residents who don’t need skilled nursing care, but who otherwise not be able to afford assisted living.
