Ten years after fire, Austinite gets a surprise: a new college diploma

The American-Statesman published an article yesterday about Clarence Howard, a resident at Emeritus at Beckett Meadows, who graduated from University of Texas in 1942 but had his original diploma destroyed in a fire 10 years ago. The university worked with a graphic designer to re-create his diploma which they presented to him on Tuesday. Read the whole story here.
