Our residents had a wonderful day celebrating our nation's birthday! In the morning, our library was packed with more than 40 residents as I gave a reading on the Declaration of Independence.
Then one of our Navy vets waved the American flag as another resident, a former choir director, led our residents in song. We sang all of our country's finest tunes. In the afternoon, we had a special Bingo for prizes, followed by Red, White and Blue ice-cream sodas out on the Memory Care Patio (it was blue cups and straws with red cream soda and vanilla ice-cream). What a great day in our community! Happy Birthday America!
