Tis the Season to Give!
This holiday season Emeritus at Bakersfield volunteered at the Grand Opening of a new Thrift Shop, collected Toys for Tots. We helped with the largest event, a wrapping party for 248 presents!
On the evening of December 16th, Emeritus at Bakersfield was the wrapping site for volunteers from our local hospitals, rehabs, and churches to assist in wrapping the generous gifts purchased for nominated seniors in the Bakersfield area.
We had gifts ranging from new DVD players to simple bird seed as requested by the senior themselves. Emeritus also was able to do 10 home visits while delivering these gifts! One of our residents, Ann, was a recipient from this program when she was in her own home and she happily wrapped over 15 presents herself! Happy Holidays!!
