Stroke: An Overview

Symptoms of Stroke

What are the Signs and Symptoms of Stroke?

It's critical to recognize the symptoms of a stroke and respond immediately. If you have these symptoms, call 911 immediately.[5][6]

Be sure members of your family know these symptoms. It may be possible that you will not be able to call 911. They can call for you if they recognize the symptoms.[6] Don't wait for the symptoms to go away. By responding immediately, you may prevent permanent disability. Even if the symptoms are temporary, don't ignore them. They are a sign of a transient ischemic attack (TIA) and indicate a serious problem.
