Valentine’s Facebook Contest Gets Seniors Talking

Seattle, Wash. – As Valentine’s Day approaches, Emeritus Senior Living presents, “Grandma’s Worst Date Ever” – a Valentine’s Facebook Contest designed to add a little spice, some laughter and a lot of connection with a beloved senior to celebrate this holiday.

The contest is now open for story or video submissions through Tuesday, Feb. 14. To start, go to www.emeritus.com/contest. Entering is easy. Just interview any special senior in your life – such as a grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, mom or dad – about the worst date they ever had, and give us all the juicy details via a story or video. We only ask that you keep the stories good humored, family-friendly, and under 350 words or under 3 minutes for video submissions.

Ten Winners to Win $150, $100, $50 or $25 Gift Cards

An expert panel of Emeritus bad-date experts will be judging the submissions, and selecting the finalists from the most humorous stories. The Grand Prize and second place winners will be selected by Emeritus Facebook Fan votes. Prizes include: A Grand Prize winner for a $150 gift card, two second-place winners for $100 cards, three third-place winners for $50 cards, and four fourth-place winners for $25 cards. Winners will be announced by Friday, Feb. 17.

Life Stories Celebrate and Honor Our Seniors

“We launched this contest to get people talking to the seniors in their lives,” said Jayne Sallerson, EVP, Sales & Marketing for Emeritus Senior Living. “A big part of our programming at Emeritus is gathering life stories from our residents, which allows our staff to better understand and care for them. We hope this contest will encourage people to do the same, as well as help break the ice with a fun topic.”
