There's no retirement for an artist, it's your way of living so there's no end to it. - Henry Moore
Seattle, WA – Emeritus Senior Living is proud of the hundreds of accomplished and budding resident artists living in its communities. To celebrate and encourage their work, the senior living company has launched a nationwide Resident Art Contest for the public on its Facebook page to help select the featured artwork for the company’s 2011 Holiday Cards.
Voting is Simple: Just visit the Emeritus Senior Living Facebook page by Thursday, Sept. 1, click on “Resident Art Contest,” then click the “Like” button on your favorite piece of art out of the 10 finalists. The four winners will be decided by the highest number of “Likes” for each piece by the end of the day Sept. 1.
Emeritus received more than 260 winter-themed art entries, which were narrowed down to 10 finalists by an expert panel. “We were astounded by all of the creativity, work and effort each resident put into their artwork. Creating art is a part of our Life Enrichment Program at Emeritus, which is designed to add joy, purpose and meaning to the lives of our residents,” said Kelly Scott, Vice President of Program Development and Innovation. “We do this by offering activities and programs that reflect the talents and interests of our residents, while also offering experiences that will challenge them and keep them mentally healthy.”
