Tualatin, Oregon Senior Residential Care Services

Residential Care Services

Every prospective resident meets with our nurse to review in detail the care services he or she may need, and of course, what services they desire. Resident choice is always key. We believe in supporting the whole person--spirit, mind and body--and never want to provide a level of care that would take away from someone’s sense of personal ability. That’s why we work hard at encouraging residents to maximize all of their potential and ability. For example, if a resident asks us to do things that we know he or she is fully capable of doing, we will encourage her to do it herself, even if it takes extra staff time to sit with her while she bathes and dresses herself. Should health needs change over time, we can easily add residential care services as necessary.

The ability to “age in place” provides tremendous peace of mind for our residents and their families. As an Emeritus community, we also have access to thousands of resources that seniors may need. For example, if a resident needs a new wheelchair, we are connected with the best durable medical equipment companies in the area. We can help residents with financial assistance, finding a lawyer, locating a packer and mover, or virtually any other service they may need. And should the prospective resident need more assistance than we can provide, we will also help the family find an appropriate skilled nursing or memory care community in the area. This is all part of living the Emeritus philosophy, “safely somewhere.” Whether that somewhere is here at River Valley Landing is not as important as making sure the individual finds a safe, secure home that meets all of their needs.
