Hillside Retirement is called a Continuing Care Retirement Community. This means that our residents can have a constant community of friends and staff, even if other aspects of their lives and health care needs may be changing.

Continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) provide a variety of services depending on your needs. From independent retirement living to assisted living to skilled nursing these communities allow you to remain in the same familiar and comforting environment. Some call it "aging in place," we think of it as a flexible independent retirement living arrangement that offers the security of long-range planning, while making sure our residents can maintain their independence for as long as they are able. At Emeritus Senior Living we pride ourselves on the fact that we offer a wide range of customized services designed to meet the individual needs of seniors.

Independent living

When you choose to move into an independent living community, you will continue to live the same lifestyle that you have become accustomed to at home, only you will have more time to enjoy your hobbies and socialize with friends, and you'll spend less time worrying about household tasks. As a resident in one of our independent living communities, you will also receive scheduled transportation to appointments and off-site excursions as well as an array of activities to participate in as you see fit. Here, a new lifestyle awaits you –an active lifestyle in which there’s so much to do, you’ll have a hard time choosing … a lifestyle in which you can come and go as you please, yet one with help right at hand should you ever need it.

Assisted living

As we get older, many of us naturally need a helping hand – perhaps someone to help us get ready for the day, help manage our medications, or prepare special meals to fit our unique dietary needs. Sometimes that extra help is all we need to continue living safely on our own. There is no “right time” to seek another living environment. Memory Care

Many of our senior living communities are designed to care for seniors with Alzheimer's, Dementia and/or memory loss issues. Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation

Stay with us in our premier assisted living community while you receive the highest level of skilled nursing care during your recovery. While your health needs improve in our skilled nursing facility (SNF), you or your loved one will receive the same outstanding services and amenities all residents enjoy. We offer 24-hour nursing supervision for residents requiring the highest level of care. Whether it is short-term or long-term nursing care, our goal is to help you or your loved one function at the highest level possible. Short-Stay Respite

Stay a few days with us. Whether you’re a senior recovering from an illness or injury, a caregiver in need of a break or vacation, or if you’re considering moving into assisted living. Sometimes a week is what YOU need! Worry-free assisted living vacation suites on an as-needed basis for your loved one. There are a multitude of reasons why worry-free vacation suites are the perfect solution. We’ll entertain them while you go have some fun.

There are several reasons that your loved one may want to take advantage of short term respite care:

• He or she is thinking about moving into an Emeritus senior living community, but wants to fully experience the Emeritus Senior Living lifestyle before making a final decision.
• He or she is being discharged from a hospital or nursing home, but may still need some extra help to ease the transition to home.
• A family member or elder caregiver is going away on vacation, and your loved one needs a temporary place to live while the caregiver gets a well-deserved break.

We welcome your loved one to stay in any of our respite care communities for just a week* – or for however long they choose. Your loved one will receive the same services all residents enjoy –and of course, he or she will have the opportunity to enjoy our rich activities programs. In fact, most of our short-stay residents tell us how quickly they feel right at home – so much at home and part of the community that many choose to stay for the longer term.
