Assisted Living Services
As a member of the Emeritus family of senior living communities, we live and breathe the Emeritus values every day. We continually ask ourselves, “What kind of difference are we going to make today? Can we save someone from falling? Can we be there with a hug and kind words to help a resident who’s having a bad day? To make a real difference, we take the time to make sure we understand the expectations of our residents, then strive to exceed those expectations by being responsive to their specific needs. We never assume that a resident wants us to step in and take over for them; we always treat each person with the dignity he or she deserves. Knowing that a resident has difficulty walking, we might say, “Can I walk along side you to keep you company (not to keep you from falling)?” We strive to make sure our assistance is casual and low-key, never intrusive. One of our residents has Multiple Sclerosis, but wants to handle his own medications. For him, we are a casual observer; he does what he can for himself, but if we notice he needs help, we right here to make sure he’s safe. Many residents are highly functioning; others require help with just about everything. Our individualized care plans for each resident ensures he or she receives just the right amount of help. We also encourage family members to be as involved as they’d like. Should a resident not have family close by, our loving and caring staff members become their adopted daughters and sons.
