River Road Community Testimonials

I have never personally had any issues with this community, I have been visiting it for a few years now and I have always been very happy with my visits. The residents have always seemed very happy, the staff members have always appeared to be very hard workers and professional and so accommodating with the residents. The care I have seen provided to each and every resident has always been exceptional. The respect and dignity and love and privacy allotted to each resident has been exceptional and they have always spent time getting to know the residents and they take their time in speaking with and caring for the residents no matter how busy or behind in work they are. That is one of the things that has always impressed me SO much is how attentive they are to each resident, they never rush the residents or make the residents feel like they need to hurry with their stories or comments or suggestions, etc. They listen to the residents thoroughly and truly seem interested in what the residents are saying. I have put this to the test on busy days that I happened to be visiting the community and when I watched a resident speaking with a staff member, I never once saw the staff members looking at their watches or looking around, they never paid more attention to everything else happening around them, they all seemed to be like in their own little world with the resident they were talking to. That has got to be so uplifting for the residents, I know when I am talking to someone and they are looking around or looking at their watch, it makes me feel like I must either be completely boring or they just don't care about what I have to say. You know how easy it is to tell the difference between someone acting like they are listening to you and someone who is truly listening. I see this happening in communities all over the nation, the staff sometimes don't realize, unfortunately, that speaking with the residents, building rapport with them, and getting to know them is part of their job description. They think that they can come in, complete their tasks, and end their shift without ever having to be "bothered" with speaking to a resident. Newsflash! The residents are your job and you need to interact and communicate with them in a friendly and approachable manner daily so that they can begin to trust you and feel comfortable around you. Fortunately, the staff at River Road not only get this, but they take it to a whole new level. If having an hour-long conversation with a resident means they have to stay an hour past their shift to finish their tasks than they happily do it, because they put the residents above everything else they have to do, but somehow they never fail to get each residents care needs met on time - which amazes me. They show undivided attention to each resident every day and still manage to get all of their tasks completed. I believe the way they are able to accomplish this is because they are SO incredibly organized and they work as a team

The facility is wonderful. There are many things to do around the community to keep busy. There are resident special-interest clubs, social events, group activities, group discussions, and so many amenities and services so that the residents can lead happy, fun, social, and worry-free lifestyles all the while KNOWING and TRUSTING that they can rely on the staff members to take care of everything else. Their jobs are to relax and have fun and believe me, they take full advantage!

I believe that River Road would make a happy and loving home for those who are still somewhat independent but just need some extra assistance throughout the day. This is a very active community but there are still some very calm and peaceful places around the community the residents can escape to for some alone time or just a place to get away from it all and enjoy the quiet. I am sure you will love all that River Road has to offer you and your loved ones.
