Roswell Senior Living Community

A Wonderful Active Lifestyle

When our residents walk through our doors, they feel like they’re coming home – and they are, to a wonderful family-oriented community with a friendly, compassionate staff that goes above and beyond to be attentive to their needs. Our residents are just as friendly – they open their arms to each other and to our visitors – and they are always up for a new adventure! And thanks to our wonderful chef, who has been with us for close to 10 years, our community is known for having the best food of all retirement communities in the area. Small pets are always welcome to our senior living community. And most importantly, residents can remain at La Villa, even if their health needs change. We offer freestanding condos for our independent residents, as well as a two-story assisted living community with a dedicated memory care neighborhood specially designed and staffed by highly trained people who understand how to care for people with memory disorders. It gives great comfort to both our residents and their families knowing that in most cases – even if dementia were to set in – that they can stay at La Villa, close to their friends and surrounded by caregivers who already know and love them.

Our social calendar is packed with many choices – with so much going on, there’s never a lack of things to do! A typical day might include some form of exercise, such as arm strengthening or yoga, games of all kinds including dominos and bingo, arts and crafts, Bible studies, a mystery drive and a movie in the evening. Another big draw is our own special daily word game, in which the staff writes a large word on a blackboard. Residents stop by to create as many words as possible using the letters. Once they came up with 432 words from just one word! All kinds of outside entertainers join us, from children’s groups caroling at Christmas time to local dance groups. And even the kids from the day care just around the corner come by to share hugs and get treats from the residents. Holidays, monthly birthday parties and our annual Grandparents’ Day are always a big deal at La Villa, with most of our family members joining us to celebrate these special occasions. At our Thanksgiving dinner, our Chef comes into the dining room to carve the turkey right in front of residents! He also hosts our Chef Spotlight once a month, during which he will give some kind of cooking demonstration for residents, whether it’s icing a large cake or carving a ham. He is incredibly skilled and always makes everything he does look so easy!

Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community

La Villa hosts monthly activities that involve our residents, family members, the community of Roswell and anyone interested in residing at our community. This includes hosting Alzheimer's Association support groups, which meet monthly at La Villa. Our community also participates in the Association’s annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s and sells wristbands to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. In addition, we sponsor a variety of monthly seminars to which local experts in their fields are invited to give presentations and/or demonstrations on topics relevant to seniors. One month we might offer a seminar on Veteran Benefits; another month we might host a quilting workshop.

La Villa hosts an annual health fair to which we invite a variety of health-related organizations, including medical equipment vendors, optometrists, local hearing-aid suppliers and hospice agencies. Typically, there are several free screenings, as well as a wealth of health-related information available. An expert from the Veterans Administration is also available to provide information about VA benefits. And throughout the year, we bring in other outside medical professionals, including physicians and nurses, to enjoy a meal and tour our community. And most Fridays, during our “Wine and Unwind” event, we invite the outside medical community to meet with our staff, enjoy wine and cheese and free chair massages.

Fine Dining

La Villa is known around Roswell for offering the best food of any senior living community in the area. We have our terrific chef to thanks. He’s been with us for close to 10 years, and our residents love him! Every day, he and our dining services staff prepare three meals a day served family-style in our spacious dining room. Of course, Mexican food is a big deal here – our chef is an expert at all kinds of Mexican cuisine, from enchiladas to taco soup made from scratch. Lunch is our big meal of the day, and residents are waited on just like in a restaurant. At breakfast time, we always offer made-to-order eggs, and every day, we offer something extra special like homemade cinnamon rolls or muffins. Our dining services staff definitely prides themselves on their baking skills! We also cater to special dietary needs, from low-carb diets for our residents with diabetes and low cholesterol diets to vegetarian diets. For those who don’t like getting out of bed early for breakfast, our caregivers will hand-deliver meals to their individual rooms. In addition, snacks are served twice a day in the Rose Garden. Our independent residents are also provided three meals a day and can choose to eat with us anytime they wish.
