Assisted Living Services

Our nurse does a thorough assessment of each new resident. This, along with other information such as the medical history, is entered into our computer system, from which a detailed customized care plan is developed. In fact, the computer system is able to pinpoint the amount of time our staff would spend on each specific task. For example, helping one resident take a bath may require just 10 minutes, while helping another resident could take 45 minutes. That specific amount of time for the resident – not a general amount assigned to each task – dictates the level of care and cost of services.

We also take the time to get to know our residents – their routines, likes and dislikes, and interests. Whatever their routine – whether it’s bathing at night or sleeping in – we will accommodate their needs. As we like to say, we treat our residents like royalty – but at the same time, we always encourage them to do whatever they can for themselves, which benefits them both physically and mentally.

Alzheimer's, Dementia and Memory Care Services

As an Emeritus community, we follow the Join Their Journey program, in which we join the resident wherever they are. We are always kind and willing to listen and always validate where they are, never trying to force them into our present day. Just like our assisted living residents, we take the time to uncover as much as possible about their lives before they became ill – their likes, dislikes, hobbies, career and major life events. From the information their family members provide, we create a life story and develop a memory care basket for each resident, which has all kinds of activities designed to their past interests. Through Join Their Journey, we are able to encourage them so that they can still participate in our community and enjoy activities. Our goal is always to make a difference in their day. It is always amazing to see how far back residents can reach into their past and recall memories, but the present day is gone for them. When we see them smile or laugh at something they remember from their past, it makes every minute we spend with them worth our time and effort.
