Assisted Living and Memory Care Services

We are part of the Emeritus family which incorporates the philosophy of “Join Their Journey”. Since we are an all memory care community, everything we do for our residents is directed for those with a dementia diagnosis.

A small community, Emeritus at Overland Park is divided into four separate houses all within the same building. Country Lane, Garden path, Boathouse Cove, and Cottage Place each have its own indoor porch and front door. The houses are built around a center that includes the art studio, community room, beauty shop, and health center.

Color-coded doors to each house help the residents remember where they live. When they enter their house, the theme of the house lets the residents know that they are home. The representative colors and the scenic theme is a form of visual cueing that reinforces independence and dignity.

Each house has its own dining room, allowing for fewer distractions and providing the resident with a peaceful dining experience. In addition, The Court’s resident apartments are designed specifically for memory care. The smaller apartments lessen confusion and provide an environment that reduces the risk of falls.

Some residents thrive in the security and familiarity that the individual houses offer. Others are on the move, looking for the next adventure. For these residents, it’s as simple as opening the doors to their houses and walking into the large interior courtyard. Here they can meet up with friends, go into another house to visit, or just sit in the sun on one of the indoor porches. On nice days, residents can go outside and walk the pathways, or they may choose to sit on the patio or in the gazebo just to enjoy the fresh air.
Whether it’s inside or outside, The Court at Overland Park is designed for the memory impaired. It is far more than a place to live. Its home!!

Skilled Nursing Care

Our residents age in place and therefore we are able to provide most levels of skilled nursing care. We provide round the clock nursing care and our Resident Care Coordinator is a licensed R.N. We are superior to most other Assisted Living communities in the area as they do not provide 24 hour nursing coverage. We partner with local home health and hospice agencies to provide ancillary services as needed for the clinical care of our residents.
