LaPorte, Indiana Senior Living Community

A Wonderful Active Lifestyle

At Brentwood at LaPorte, our rich and varied activities program is tailored to our residents’ interests, skills and abilities. Our full-time life enrichment director offers a robust activities program that is carefully geared to our residents’ preferences.

Throughout the year, we host dozens of festive holiday events and special celebrations, which are very popular with our residents as well as their families.

Our residents enjoy all kinds of games, from dominos to Bingo to cards, as well as memory games that promote brain health. Our weekly schedule always includes different types of arts and crafts programs, as well as movie nights with popcorn.

We offer a wide range of excursions each month, including trips to see Arts in the Park, Amish Acres, and The Little Theater. Our residents also enjoy outings to Washington Park, Kessling Park, and popular nearby shopping locales. Every day, our wellness coordinators lead fun exercise programs, for every level of physical ability, that are designed to help our residents stay limber and build muscle strength.

For our memory care residents, we have designed an outstanding program to help them remain active and engaged. Activities in our memory care neighborhood are designed to promote the social, physical, mental, spiritual and cultural lives of our residents.

Our residents enjoy participating in activities that they have been involved with during their lifetime, such as gardening, fishing, cooking, puzzles, reading and sewing. We adapt the activity to the residents' current abilities.

Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community

Brentwood at LaPorte is dedicated to staying connected and active in the LaPorte area. We have a tremendous relationship with our community and participate in many local festivals, school events, and non-profit causes. Every year, our staff and residents hold fundraisers to support the local Alzheimer’s Association chapter.

Also in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association, we conduct a monthly family support group. We bring outside experts into the community to talk about topics pertinent to families and other caregivers. The meetings are open to the public and are ideal for anyone who has a friend or family member that suffers from Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.

Fine Dining

At Brentwood at LaPorte, our chefs are proud of their culinary skills and always concerned about serving residents food that they’ll enjoy. Three savory home-style meals and three delicious snacks are served daily in our dining area. Each meal offers a featured entrée, and alternate options are also available to meet your loved one’s preferences. Delicious food, friendly staff and good companionship is what makes our dining experience unique. On occasion, our residents go out as a group to a variety of restaurants.
