Assisted Living Services

Assisted Living consists of two unique services...Core services are included in our base rental rates consisting of meals, housekeeping, life engagement and watchful oversight (24-7) staff on-site. For our residents needing assistance with Activities of Daily living, i.e. assistance with medications, dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, ambulating, etc. Prior to each residents move our Resident Care Director/Nurse, completes a comprehensive evaluation which enables us to publish an individualized care plan for each resident. Our "We-Care evaluation tool" enables us to determine a care level for our residents indicating how much assistance they require with daily needs; our WeCare evaluation tool also ensures that our residents only pay for the services they need. Levels of care are seperate from base rent and are charged accordingly beginning with Level 1 thru Level 4.

Keep in mind, some of our residents reside with us simply because they desire "watchful oversight" in case they were to need assistance at some point in time and are considered Independent and thus, carry no service level. As the resident remains in our Community, our Nurse, Stephanie Brookshire, continues to monitor their needs by re-evaluating them on a semi-annual basis and/or in between if needed; families are encouraged to communicate any changes that they notice about their loved one as well to maintain a team approach to ensure that our residents receive the assistance that they need; a service plan can be updated at anytime that changes are noted. Our Community schedules staff appropriately per state guidelines and we also employee a full management team consisting of the Executive Director, Business Office Manager, Resident Care Director, Community Relations Director, Dietary Services Director and our Life Engagement Director.

Alzheimer's, Dementia and Memory Care Services

Terrace at Woodstock operates a small Memory Care Community which gives us the ability to provide a safe and secure environment for our residents who may have advanced stages of dementia, Alzheimer's disease and/or other related diseases. Locked entry and exit doors are in place to ensure that our resident's safety is always at hand. Our care staff which work solely in our Memory Care Community are hand picked specifically to work in this environment and as such require special skills in relating to residents with dementia. Our Memory Care Community consists of fourteen apartments off of one hallway; this ensures that all residents exiting their apartments are normally within the visual range of one of our care staff. Our Memory Care Community has it's own dining room, living room and small courtyard for complete day to day interaction in a small, less confusing environment.

Our Memory Care Director has received training from the Alzheimer's Association and is tasked with keeping our care staff up to date and knowledgeable in caring for residents with dementia related behaviors. Crystal's main goal is to oversee the daily operations of our Memory Care Community, communicating with family members of our Memory Care residents and to ensure that their needs are being met physically, emotionally and spiritually. Crystal hosts our monthly Alzheimer's Support Group meetings which are held on the last Thursday of the month at 6pm; these meeting are for those in the outside surrounding community which may be caring for a family member with dementia and/or related diseases to provide support and/or education. Terrace at Woodstock and all Emeritus Communities operate our Memory Care Communities based on a "Join their Journey" program; the program ensures life enrichment for each resident, reminicsing which brings back old memories from their past and individualized interaction for residents based on their pasts keeping in mind their individual abilities. Memory care residents also interact with residents from our Assisted Living Community during special events, exercise program, entertainment and arts/crafts as their abilities allow.
