Our goal is to help each resident, despite their stage of memory loss, be purposeful and successful every day. As part of the Emeritus family of memory care communities, we participate in a unique memory care program called Join Their Journey®. By “joining their journey,” we are able to join a resident in his or her moment, rather than trying to bring this resident into our reality.

Join Their Journey is also designed for our families. We offer you special services and programs to help you better understand what your loved one is going through, and how you can best support his or her needs.

How does Join their Journey support residents who live with memory loss?

• With detailed life stories that capture their histories, memories and interests so we can personalize their daily activities, and take the time to share and reminisce with them.
• With a personalized home-like environment to make their surroundings familiar, secure and comfortable.
• With recreational and learning programs tailored to their personal interests, strengths and capabilities.
• With large and small group activities, and plenty of different options throughout the day.
• With routine tasks, like helping with gardening or folding laundry, that gives a sense of purpose, safety and security

• With monthly communication called “Moments in Time” so families are kept informed of their loved one’s life and experiences at our community.
• With support groups and family gatherings so they can share and learn from others who are experiencing similar situations, and dealing with anger, frustration and sadness.
• With family orientation and educational programs that deliver valuable information and tools to help them better understand and support their loved one’s needs.
