This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Sandy Springs- and throughout Emeritus senior living communities- has shared since 1996, when we first opened its doors. It's a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful- a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care.
The Perfect Location
Emeritus at Sandy Springs is located on the same campus as Emeritus at Sandy Springs Place, its sister Emeritus memory care community. Both are nestled in a secluded wooded setting in the beautiful Atlanta suburb community of Sandy Springs, which is located just 15 miles north of the city. A thriving community of approximately 80,000 people, Sandy Springs is headquarters to more Fortune 500 companies than any other community in Georgia. Dozens of wonderful restaurants, shopping malls, banks and just about any other type of retail business our families might want to visit are right here in the immediate area. With our close proximity to Highway 400 and I-285, they can also take full advantage of all the terrific attractions in the surrounding area, from the Georgia Aquarium to the gold mines at Dahlonega.
Our Sandy Springs senior living community convenient location gives our families easy access to all that the area offers. The Perimeter Mall is a quick 10-minute drive from our community, as are many restaurants. This includes the Varsity, Atlanta’s oldest restaurant and the world’s largest drive-in, as well as Longhorn’s, Red Lobster and the Olive Garden, one of the restaurants we take residents to weekly. Should our families want to visit Atlanta, our community is close to Route 400. In just minutes, they can be touring the Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest aquarium with more 60 exhibits, or visiting the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, the High Museum of Art and the Martha Mitchell House.
A Wonderful Selection
Our beautiful garden community offers 106 senior apartments on three floors. We have several floor plans to choose from, including 300 sq. foot studios, 445 sq. foot one-bedrooms and 702 sq. foot two-bedroom/two-bath units. Each apartment features at least one full bath, kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave, blinds and wall-to-wall carpeting. All of our apartments offer large windows with views of the courtyard garden or of our beautifully landscaped front entrance area. Residents bring in their own furniture and can decorate any way they wish. We’ll also paint the apartment before they move in; we offer six lovely colors to choose from. In addition, there are no buy-in fees or leases, just a month-to-month rent, which includes all utilities except basic cable and telephone and interior/exterior maintenance. We also offer a short-stay respite option, enabling residents to stay just a short period of time to give their caregivers a much-needed break, or to simply take our community for a test drive. Small pets are also always welcome.
On the first floor is our lovely Cypress dining room with large windows on two sides, some of which overlook our courtyard. A private dining room, available for family celebrations, is located just off the main dining room. Our main living room on the first floor has a fireplace. We also offer two smaller living rooms on either wing. Also located on our first floor is the café and garden room, from which residents can enter our courtyard, with its winding walking paths, patio, koi pond and gardens. Coffee and snacks are available in the café throughout the day – one of the primary reasons residents are so fond of getting together here for card games! Upstairs is “Main Street,” with another living room, library, physical therapy room, media room, beauty salon, spa, community center, arts and crafts room and community kitchen. This is the hub of our community; if you’re looking for a resident, most likely you’ll find them right here on Main Street. Free laundry facilities are also available for the use of our residents.
We have about 60 members of our team, including resident assistants, each of whom is a certified nursing assistant, housekeeping and maintenance, and our wonderful dining services staff. Our management team, several of whom have been here for more than five years, includes a senior executive director, community relations director, life enrichment director, business office director, maintenance director and a resident care director, who is a licensed practical nurse. All of us here strive to be gentle, patient and respectful, and to work together as a team to make sure the years our residents spend with us are filled with joy, companionship and love.
