Tips and Tools to Prevent You and Your Loved One from Contracting the Flu
Following the tips and tools below may help prevent you or your loved one from contracting the flu.
Flu Prevention Tips
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol based hand cleaners are also effective.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Avoid close contact with people with flu-like symptoms.
- If you get sick, the Centers for Disease Control recommends that you stay home from work and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them until your flu-like symptoms are gone.
