As we get older, many of us naturally need a helping hand-- perhaps someone to help us get ready for the day, help manage our medications, or prepare special meals to fit our unique dietary needs. Sometimes that extra help is all we need to continue living safely on our own. Our staff is here to offer a helping hand, but only when and if you need it. When you join our senior living community, we'll take the time to carefully assess your needs before recommending specific assisted living services. In fact, we use a state-of-the-art computerized assessment system, which helps us accurately evaluate, predict and monitor all personal care needs for each of our residents. And because we are part of Emeritus Senior Living, our community has access to a wide range of health professionals available locally to support residents’ health needs as required.

Memory Care Services

Sometimes our residents may require extra attention or assistance due to Alzheimer’s, dementia or memory loss. Such residents live in one of our 25 specially designed memory care apartments and participate in a unique and innovative program designed by Emeritus, called Join Their Journey®. The premise of Join Their Journey is simple. Our highly trained Alzheimer's and dementia staff, managed by Dunedin’s full-time memory care director, joins residents in their moment, rather than trying to bring them into our reality. Our goal is to get to know each resident and his or her family, so that we can offer just the right level of support for each situation at every stage in the disease process. Through this approach, we recognize individuality, encourage choices, and allow residents the dignity to live their lives in a way that feels familiar to them. We also build partnerships with families and loved ones, providing educational programs to help them better understand what their loved one is going through and how they can best support his or her needs. We also offer support groups to give families the opportunity to share and learn from others experiencing similar situations.
