Remembering Georgann

GeorgannYou could say that when Georgann Smith walked into The Gardens at Sarasota each day, she brought with her some very special gifts. She loved to have fun, she cared deeply about everyone, and she was dedicated to the residents she served. As the lead resident assistant, she saw herself as a member of a special family at The Gardens at Sarasota. Pricilla Ulrichs, one of the residents she cared for, probably said it best.

"The Gardens was only a building when I came to live here six years ago. Georgann made it my home with her friendly concern, and she called me, Momsie! I loved it!"

On Monday, April 6th, our Emeritus family lost a treasured friend, a committed colleague and a special caregiver in Georgann. A Celebration of Life service was held at the community, where many of her friends remembered her with words about her devotion and caring for others. We will honor Georgann by continuing to care for residents with the dedication and compassion that Georgann gave of herself every day.
