Emeritus Senior Living Receives VALA Assisted Living Best Practices Award for Home Visits Program

-- Emeritus Senior Living (NYSE:ESC), a national provider of assisted living and Alzheimer's and related memory care services to seniors, announced today that it has been recognized by the Virginia Assisted Living Association (VALA) with an Assisted Living Best Practices Award for its Home Visits Program. VALA’s Assisted Living Best Practices Award recognizes assisted living providers who create innovative programs or unique approaches to provide the best service possible to seniors.

Emeritus’ Home Visits program, called “You Don’t Have to Live With Us for Us to Help,” is a complimentary service for seniors living near Emeritus’ 320 communities across the United States, and provides them with resources to keep them healthy and connected with the community. The program provides consistent visits to local seniors to ensure that their needs are being met, offers resources, provides medical evaluations if requested, and offers much needed company and support.

The Home Visits program was formalized in 2009 as an extension of Emeritus’ “Safely Somewhere” philosophy which underscores the company’s commitment to facilitating access to appropriate resources for all seniors, whether they are in their own homes, in an Emeritus community, or elsewhere.
