What do you like most about working for Emeritus?
I enjoy the day-to-day relationships you get to create with the residents, family members and staff. The transition from being in the military to senior living was a smooth transition for me. I find that working with seniors is another way to serve our country. For me, in the scope of things, it’s because of our seniors that we are at where we are today. Giving back to those that have worked and honest life, former veterans of war and those that have helped pave the way for my generation, is the least I can do.

What competencies did you acquire in the military that you use with Emeritus?
When I was in the Army, I was a Retention NCO. This meant I got to convince people they wanted to sign up for further military service. That definitely helps with the Community Relations side of my job! The leadership and ownership I developed in the military has helped me be successful with Emeritus. Working in an environment that wasn’t a 9-5 work day and which required flexibility and being aware of a picture bigger then you are part of, helped me transition to Emeritus.

What are some of the challenges that you take pleasure in?
My job at Emeritus is to lead the team responsible for providing software solutions that make it easier for the people who care for our residents. When we solve a particularly challenging problem or provide a solution that makes somebody’s job easier it truly makes my day!
