The symptoms of diabetes occur due to the buildup of glucose in the blood. This occurs in types 1 and 2 diabetes as well as gestational diabetes. The initial symptoms of the disease are:[7][8]

  • Hunger
  • Tiredness
  • Weight loss
  • Sores that heal slowly
  • Dry itchy skin
  • Losing sensation in the feet or having a tingling sensation
  • Blurry vision
