A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
Sunrise Creek offers numerous daily activities for resident enjoyment including six day a week exercise classes, twice a week church services, bridge, bingo, baking, sing-alongs, current event discussion group, live entertainment, happy hour cocktails, ladies’ coffee and chat, men’s coffee group, spa treatments like manicures and pedicures, educational speakers, errands and shopping. During holidays the common areas are decorated for the season, the kitchen staff puts on fabulous buffets, and there are numerous additional activities for residents and family members.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Sunrise Creek participates in and hosts many public events including the Christmas Angel Tree program, a Christmas craft bazaar, senior art classes, a chocolate and wine event to raise funds for Parkinson’s research, our own anniversary party and dance, plus we sponsor a table at the Altrusa International of Montrose spring luncheon fashion show and decorate a themed-tree for Altrusa’s holiday winter fundraiser.
Each year Sunrise Creek is host to an elegant dinner and silent auction with all proceeds going to Alzheimer’s research and is also the host site for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in the summer. We regularly invite the local Alzheimer’s Association director to hold educational seminars in our community, as well as local physicians, other healthcare professionals, veterans benefits officers, travel enthusiasts, authors and other community leaders.
Fine Dining
The dining at Sunrise Creek is restaurant style – no assigned seating, our staff takes your order at the table, and choices and alternates are available. Breakfast consists of one main alternating with eggs, bacon, sausage and gravy, fresh fruit, pancakes, hash browns, toast, or French toast. Cold cereals, oatmeal, cream of wheat, fruit and yogurt are always available. Lunches and dinners have a main and alternate choice, but if you wish, there are standards always available like sandwiches, salads, or soups.
Dessert is available at both lunch and dinner. Sunrise Creek’s dining service director Tony Manzanares has a culinary degree from Western Colorado Institute and has been managing restaurant and hotel kitchens for 30 years. The Sunrise Creek kitchen staff develops fabulous fresh buffets at major holidays, offers summer-time cookouts, and provides appetizers and meals for public events and community parties and fundraisers.
