A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
We are proud to be part of Emeritus, the leading senior living provider in California. Emeritus brings a wealth of resources to our community, from the Join Their Journey program for our memory care residents to the Assisted Living Waiver Program – a program that is offered by very few senior living communities in the country. This program helps cover the cost of care for residents in financial need, enabling residents to remain in our lovely community even if they are having financial difficulties.
What truly makes Fulton Villa a wonderful place to live is our homey, friendly environment in which all of our staff members pride themselves on welcoming everyone and where everyone – residents, their families and even their small pets – are all part of our family. Our visitors tell us how surprised they are that Emeritus at Fulton Villa doesn’t look like a “cookie cutter” senior living community with furniture and decorations an exact replica of every other senior facility. Warm, unique and comfortable are just some of the words commonly used to describe Fulton Villa.
In addition, we have the capacity to allow residents to “age in place.” They can retire here and receive minimal assistance, then add services as required, including physical, occupation and speech therapy. And should they suffer from a memory disorderlive with memory impairment, they can remain right here; our memory care community neighborhood is in the same building. Moreover, an excellent skilled nursing facility is literally right next door, so that residents can easily gethave access to more intensive short-term care as necessary. Our staff is at the facility at least every other day, visiting residents, taking them clothes and other personal items, and checking in on their progress. We also have close relationshipspartner with several hospice agencies and can bring in those services as required. Emeritus at Fulton Villa truly is home – for as long as our residents need us, we are here for them, providing compassionate, supportive care tailored to their needs.
The staff at Emeritus at Fulton Villa goes out of its way to provide fun events for all of our residents. From arts and crafts, Bridge Club, Wii bowling and reminiscing games, to a variety of exercise programs, including Tai Chi and chair yoga, there is always a packed schedule of activities to help keep residents mentally and physically active. Our Garden Club is in charge of caring for the many potted plants that adorn our lovely courtyard. Many of our residents participate in volunteer projects; recently we put together care packages for Adopt a Soldier – one for female soldiers, another for male soldiers and one specifically for injured soldiers. We bring in guest lecturers and performers, as well as a volunteer from Hospice who gives spiritual readings once a week. In addition, non-denomination and weekly Rosary and Communion services are held weekly. We can also take residents to their own churches. Plus friends and family members are welcome to join in many of the activities offered.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
We partner with a variety of groups in the immediate area. Several of our residents recently participated in a Community Partnership for Families of San Joaquin multicultural event featuring dance, music, food and arts and crafts from different countries. The group also sponsored a Mexican folk dance program with young dancers, held here at our community. In addition, we bake cookies for special events at St. Luke’s Kids – a local kindergarten – and occasionally the children come here to do arts and crafts. We also partner with the March of Dimes; for example, we recently donated 800 cookies for the lunch they served at the March of Dimes Walk in downtown Stockton. We also donate the services of our bus to pick up people who cannot complete the walk. The Boys and Girls Club also occasionally visit our community, especially around holiday time, and recently, we donated toys and prizes for the Club’s Youth Day.
Fine Dining
The expert chefs at Fulton Villa prepare three delicious and nutritious meals and snacks each day, with the daily menu often reflecting the taste and style of our geographic region. For residents looking for a smaller meal, salads, fruit plates and sandwiches made to order are always an option. They also consult closely with our registered dietician to ensure residents with special dietary needs are accommodated. All meals (our main meal is at lunchtime) are served restaurant style in our lovely Fulton Café by our gracious wait-staff. We also have a “bistro” area, where fresh seasonal fruits and beverages are always available. In addition, festive special occasion dinners are served throughout the year, including holiday dinners and Veterans luncheon every November. Recently, we had a thank you luncheon for local police and military who provide patrol services during our annual Hot Summer’s Night Car Show. Visitors are always welcome to join us for a complimentary lunch.
