ALEXANDRIA, Va. –March 19, 2012 – The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) has announced the finalists of the ALFA Senior Living Art Showcase, a premier art competition for senior living residents. ALFA has chosen 31 finalists to have their art work showcased at COMMUNITY 2012, the ALFA Conference and Expo. One of these finalists will be chosen by a panel of art experts and named the ALFA Senior Living Art Showcase Grand Prize Winner, an honor that will be announced at COMMUNITY 2012. Emeritus at Barrington Court is holding an Artist Studio on January 21 where our residents create collage panels to be entered into the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) Senior Living Art Showcase, which is an art competition for residents of senior living communities.

New Year’s Eve Celebration
Emeritus at Barrington Court celebrated the coming of the new year, 2012, with talented Antonia Venezia who sang the songs we know and love from earlier decades. This annual event allowed us to bid farewell to the previous year and say hello to the new year.
We raised our glasses filled with sparkling apple cider and toasted each other and the hope that this year will be even better than the last. Our chef, Ted Domingo prepared tasty homemade cream puffs for all to enjoy. We rattled and spun our noisemakers and raised the roof as the evening progressed. [ Read more ]
