You Think You Can Dance? ...they still can.

Nothing could stop John Rohrman from dancing, and cookies and punch were the only things that could take John Rowe away from the dance floor on July 31 - and Rowe is missing a foot and sits in a wheelchair.

In celebration of National Dance Day, promoted by the television contest "So You Think You Can Dance" and in honor of National Fitness Day, residents of The Court at Denver, a senior living center, put on their dancing shoes and twisted, shimmied and twirled under the streamed paper record decorations while listening to 1950s music.

"I felt good," said Rowe, a former dance instructor, "Some of these young ladies can dance. It's been a long time since I've been at a group like this, so I've got to work it up slow."

The Court at Denver, 3790 W. Quincy Ave., near South Federal Boulevard and West Belleview Avenue, was one of 316 Emeritus Senior Living centers across the country that had sock hops.
