I have visited Emeritus at East Indian School road while in search for a assisting facility for a relative. I found the place equipped with necessary facilities. They offer some recreation programs such as exercise programs, aerobics and even yoga programs once, which would be a very good refreshing experience for old age people and sick persons like my relative. I found there rooms, baths, kitchen, patio etc clean and hygienic. They also provide special diet for individual person which is very good and not often seen in many of the assisted homes I have seen. Their dining facilities are good although I did not get a chance to taste the food there. I heard from my friend that their social game activities are enthusiastic and keeps the people in good mood and health. We ultimately chose a different home for my relative due to distance reasons.
I visited this facility last week with a close friend of mine, I had not been to Emeritus at Olive Grove in a few years, and from what I noticed, the neighborhood was still pretty rough looking. I remember that being one of my chief concerns from when I had made a few visits to the facility years prior. I always wondered if I would feel all right about my own mother living there because of the neighborhood. Immediately, however, I could see that they had done a great deal of remodeling and they had made the building itself more secure with the installation of a state-of-the-art security system. The facility looked wonderful. It was open, bright, and there was an inviting feeling of home throughout. All of the residents seemed blissfully happy to be there, and all of the staff were welcoming. One of the caregivers even remembered me from the few visits I made to Olive Grove three years earlier! My friend and I were very impressed with all of the midday activities that were happening while we were there. Olive Grove is a wonderful choice for those who enjoy staying active. There were games being played, water aerobics taking place, residents socializing like happy giddy teenagers, a tea party being had, and a group of ladies leaving for a volunteer program they had signed up for. I truly had a great time on this visit, I am delighted with the changes I noticed. Whatever occurred at Olive Grove over the last three years has really made a positive impact because the facility is beautiful and the people who make up the facility are some of the nicest, most wonderful people I've met. It is my hope that Olive Grove is around for many years to come, because the amount of smiles I saw on the faces of the residents that day truly made me realize that Emeritus at Olive Grove really is a diamond in the rough and I would feel absolutely at ease for even my own mother to choose Olive Grove as an assisted living home.
This is a 2 story building. There are 80 independent and assisted and 20 memory care. They have studio, one and two bedroom with partial kitchens and a patio and balcony. Housekeeping and laundry services as well are offered. All are handicapped equipped and each person gets an alert pendant.
There is an outside courtyard with greenery and patios and bbq. They have a tv room, activities room, beauty salon, and a library.
Three meals and snacks are provided in the large dining. The memory care has their own dining room. The food is good and they offer a choice of two entrees and build your salad or sandwich.
They LPNs on days and on call. A few doctors come in and they transport to appointments within 10 miles. They do all three levels of care. They have certified caregivers and the staff seems caring.
They have lots of in house activities as bingo, games. parties, and bbqs. They also go out to activities like lunceons, movies, ball games, and other events.
This a nice appearing clean facility.
Lorraine, Kristin & Patty have been wonderful!
The entire staff at Emeritus at Olive Grove are all very professional and also are very caring. Half-way through our introductory tour we were sure that this would be the best place for our dad. Everyone was so helpful, and worked together so well to make us feel comfortable and welcome into their family.
I visited this facility to see if if was a place I would want my mother to live and be cared for in. It was. The grounds were lovely, the interior seemed to be freshly painted and it was well appointed. All the rooms I visited; all the areas I went into seemed bright and cheerful and well maintained. People smiled and seemed pleasant. The facility was clean and smelled nice, not a "fake" smell. I was very impressed! I saw singing and daily newspaper reading going on and interactions between the residents and the staff was genuine concern and care. I am confident, not at all skeptical, that my mother will be well cared for here. Thank you!
