Assisted Living Services

Prior to move-in, one of our staff nurses conducts a thorough assessment of the potential new resident, asking a wide range of questions, from various health concerns to interests and expectations. The information is entered into the Emeritus wEcare computerized system, which creates a specific care plan tailored to the resident’s needs. This approach ensures that the resident gets – and pays only for – the exact level of services required. Services can include any combination of assistance with bathing and dressing, medication management, rehabilitation services, escorts and assistance with walking, respite care, dining assistance and special diets and diabetic assistance. Residents’ health conditions are periodically reviewed, with the levels of service changing as required. In fact, in some cases, with the quality of care we provide, along with three nutritious meals a day, the health of residents often improve and the level of services needed can be decreased.

Memory Care

For our memory care residents, we offer Join Their Journey, an Emeritus program designed specifically to help residents have success throughout the day. Our goal is to meet each resident’s individual needs, wherever they are in their life. For example, one of our residents was an avid fisherman when he was young. So we set up a ”life station,” complete with a tackle box, clothes and magazines, where he can relive his youth. We also take our memory care residents on outings throughout the month, whether a lunch out or trip for ice cream and a visit to the local park. Memory games, daily exercise, musical programs and pet therapy are just a few of the other activities we offer our memory care residents.

Skilled Nursing Care

Chris Ridge is the skilled nursing hub for all 13 Emeritus communities located in the Greater Phoenix area. In addition, seniors from the area who has been hospitalized and is in need of short- or long-term rehabilitation services is welcome. Here in our 60-bed community, our highly trained staff offers around-the-clock care as needed, including physical, occupational and speech therapy; orthopedic recovery care; dialysis and cardiac care; feeding assistance; incontinence care; catheter and colostomy care; social care and support services; and hospice and palliative care. In addition, we have a dedicated wound care nurse – especially important for our diabetic residents, who are often here to heal from serious infections.

Unlike many institutional-type facilities that offer skilled nursing only, Chris Ridge integrates skilled nursing into the campus life. So any resident here for rehabilitation has access to everything our community offers, from our café where they can sit and visit with loved ones and the Chris Ridge Serenity Gardens to our elegant restaurant-style dining room and gift shop. As a result, visiting family and friends have many different places throughout the campus to be together in comfort and privacy. Skilled nursing residents also have the benefit of a diverse activities program managed by a full-time Life Enrichment Director.
