Assisted Living
In addition, our team of caregivers and management work exceptionally well together, with everyone pitching in as necessary to make sure our residents are well cared for. Because we are a small community, licensed for just 74 residents, there’s a strong family atmosphere here. Should a resident need to be hospitalized or moved temporarily into skilled nursing, our management and nursing staff visit them regularly, keeping tabs on their progress and making sure they can return home as soon as possible. What’s more our staff not only gets to know our residents well, but they also reach out to their loved ones and make sure they too feel part of the Emeritus at Flagstaff family.
Our goal is help residents remain as independent as possible, always recognizing that some of our residents do require a higher level of care. Our nurse and her assistant work closely with our Resident Assistants to ensure that they know exactly what help the resident requires. We also make every effort to help orient new residents to our community, taking them to activities and meals, introducing them to their neighbors, and making sure they know the various ins and outs of living at Emeritus at Flagstaff. Our current residents are also extremely friendly and go out of their way to make sure new residents feel welcomed.
Alzheimer's and Memory Care

Skilled Nursing Care
We also work closely with family members, recognizing that it is difficult for a loved one to care for someone who has a memory impairment. Our goal is to provide guidance on how to support their loved one – for example, helping them become familiar with the concepts of the Join Their Journey program and providing a comprehensive packet of helpful tips and information on how to care for their loved ones. In addition, we strongly encourage family members to stay involved and to visit frequently. Toward this end, our Memory Care Director plans quarterly social gatherings and parties to which family are always invited.
And because Emeritus at Flagstaff offers both memory care and assisted living, should an assisted living resident’s memory decline and they are at risk for wandering, we can easily move them into our memory care community as necessary. Disruption and stress to both the resident and family members is minimized.
