Flagstaff, Arizona Senior Living Community

A Wonderful Active Lifestyle

Following breakfast, most mornings at Emeritus at Flagstaff begin with some type of exercise program, typically chair exercises designed to promote strength and flexibility. Throughout the morning and afternoon, our full-time Life Enrichment Director offers a variety of other activities, from bible studies and book groups, to bingo games and arts and crafts. And in nice weather, many residents enjoy gathering on our lovely back patio or strolling along a walking path that meanders through a fenced-in garden area. Several residents also love to tend our vegetable garden. In addition, we have a group of residents who typically get together before dinner to play dominos, and twice a week after dinner we have movie night. We are also blessed to have two wonderful nuns from Ireland lead church services and communion on Monday afternoons, and a Catholic priest visits our community once a month to give Mass.

Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community

Emeritus at Flagstaff holds a monthly support group for family members and the community-at-large, providing support to anyone struggling with caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or a memory impairment. Each month, we invite experts to speak – from hospice professionals and physicians to psychologists and dieticians – on topics related to dementia.

Fine Dining

Our lovely spacious dining room is a wonderful place to enjoy meals – sunny, bright and accented in warm Southwest colors. Here, we serve three meals a day, restaurant style, with each meal offering two entrée choices. Lunch, our larger meal of the day, starts with salad and always includes a homemade soup. Our chef, who is also our Dining Services Director, is a phenomenal cook and is responsible for training our other chefs. For those of our residents with dietary restrictions, we do our best to accommodate their needs, including our diabetic residents who are provided frequent snacks throughout the day. Our management team often eats lunch with residents – and every day, a different team member helps out with serving lunch or dinner. This gives our staff a great opportunity to visit with residents.

Memory care residents receive three meal and three nutritious snacks spread out throughout the day, as they tend to eat much smaller amounts in one sitting. We also work hard to ensure residents are well hydrated, especially important considering the elevation of Flagstaff and our dry climate. And for all residents, there is coffee, water, juices and hot chocolate available in our lobby, along with assorted goodies.
